A custom is content on request: the fan says what he wants to see, you shoot it for him. Customs are the most expensive thing you can sell, because they are one of a kind. But they are also what creators overcommit on most often.
When a fan wants a custom
Never at the start. Customs are bought by fans who have already bought several sets and built a relationship in the chat. Whoever offers customs in the feed gets requests from people who do not pay. The offer belongs in the chat, to the right fan, at the right moment.
Price
From $50, open upwards. The price depends on effort and exclusivity: a short video with his name is the lower limit, a theme you otherwise never do the upper one. Rule of thumb: a custom costs at least three times a normal set. Whoever offers cheaper ends up with many requests and little money.
Payment upfront, always
Pay first, then shoot. No exception. A fan who does not pay upfront does not pay afterwards either. Whoever wants to "see it first" gets a set, not a custom.
Set the limits beforehand
Write down what you do and what you do not, before the first request arrives. Saying names, yes. Certain outfits, yes. Anything that makes you identifiable or feels uncomfortable, no. Your chat team gets this list, so that nobody promises something in your name that you do not want.
Drawing the line without losing the fan
A refusal is no problem when it comes with an offer. "I do not do that, but I have something you will like" sells more often than a plain no. Fans who see limits respected stay longer.
How many customs per week
Two to three. More eats the shoot day that is actually there for reels and the weekly set. Customs are the bonus, not the business. The business is the set that sells to a hundred fans.
After delivery
One message afterwards, asking whether he liked it. Fans who have bought a custom very likely buy a second one when asked.
With us the chat team offers customs only to fans who are ready for it, by your list of limits, with payment upfront. You get the requests collected for the Friday shoot day.
